Birthday Star

Hello!

Today's card was made at the request of my lovely DH for a friend of his.  It had to be simple (CAS) and it HAD to be manly with none of the embellishments that I normally use on a card.  ACK!!  CAS?  Me???  So here is the result.  Simple, manly colors, no frills or fuss, though I did sneak in some texture in the form of both dry and heat embossing, plus a popped up layered die cut.  I mean, come on.

I like the combination of blue and dark gray metallic papers (does it look brown in the photo?).  I embossed the patterned layer and then lightly sponged black ink over the dots to give it a bit of added dimension.  It's simple, but DH was very happy with it.  I'm still tempted to go in and add something to it, though I won't.  Not even a brad, or a grommet or a button.  Or twine.  Or....but he said no, it has to go through the mail perfectly flat.  <sigh>

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Now I'm going to go back to my craft room and make a card that's positively dripping with embellishments.  Because that's what makes this gal happy.
