Hello!
Today's card is for the current challenge going on over at Creative Inspirations Paint, the theme of which is Inspired By: "Back to School."
Except I have no one in my world who is going back to school, so I made
a fall-themed card instead, and one clear indicator of fall is the
apple tree full of ripe apples.
The
days are still warm, the sun is still shining, there's still time to
play on the tire swing but summer is starting to wind down.
I embossed the edges of the red base layer with Deliquesce White embossing powder and used a popped up die cut frame to frame the image.
I
painted the leafy part of the tree with Green Olive and Evergreen, and
the apples with Garnet. Then I covered them with Glossy Accents.
Because shiny apples are the most appetizing.
I used chalks to color in the background.
Some ribbon and an apple-shaped brad finish things off.
A little stamping on the inside, and this card was finished.
Thanks so much for joining me, and don't forget to come play with us in our newest challenge!
Happy crafting!

Hi, Shea! What a delightfully happy scene! With the tree slightly curved it looks like it is saying, "please warm the underside of my branches, Mr. Sun". Beautiful colors and special touches. I like the window box look and the massive yellow "warmth" in the upper right of your shadowbox frame! Lovely! hugs, de
Thanks for sharing your card in the crafty ribbons challenge

Great card, Shea! I love shiny apples too! Mwah!
Shea,
This is just so sweet! I guess summer is winding down, I wouldn't mind a break from the heat. Fall is my favorite season!
Oh, how pretty. That tree is beautiful with the apples. The decorative frame looks great. Thank you for playing along with us at The Sweet Stop.
Love the details you have included in this card, especially the dimension you achieved by popping up the frame. Great summer colours, and those apples sure look good enough to eat! Thanks for joining us at the Sweet Stop this week!
What a darling fall scene, Shea! All the elements work so nicely together...the apples and the polka dots...the embossed dots to the polka dots on the ribbon. The popped up frame shows off your scene beautifully! Thanks so much for joining us at The Sweet Stop this week!
Gorjuss, thanks for sharing it with us at Fussy & Fancy this week.
