Challenge #65 - Gingham or Checks

Hello!

It's time for this week's challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge, and the theme this week is "Gingham or Checks."  This challenge will run from 8:00 AM Feb. 2 until 6:00 PM Feb. 8, and the prize for the winner will be.....

2 Individual Digi images (NOT SETS) of the winners choice from PINK GEM DESIGNS  (Subject to Availability).
So head on over and join us this week - we'd love to see you!
My card today was made with the new Jodie with Heart digi stamp you can find here at Pink Gem Designs.  Isn't she cute?
I have colored the image with Copics and paper pieced parts of it.  I didn't intend to paper piece initially, but it took me several tries to accomplish the "out of the box" cutting technique, and I couldn't waste all those lovely images...

... so paper piecing was the natural solution.  I'm not really sure I quite "get" that particular die cutting technique yet.  Maybe next time.

I made the asters using Punch Bunch punches and painted the insides with CI paints for a little added shimmer, and I used two colors of embroidery thread to stitch the two patterns of dp.

Here's a pic showing the dimension I added by paper piecing and popping up layers.  And the two cute little heart buttons.
Thank you for joining me today, and I hope you'll join us at A Gem of a Challenge for our latest challenge.  Please head over to see what the rest of the Design Team have created and hopefully gain some inspiration for your next project!
Happy crafting!

I can't seem to get my head or should I say scissors around the out of box technique Shea..I always end up cutting something I shouldn't :-S I think you did a fabtastic job with yours...love the 3 D'ing.
