Nurture yourself

Good morning.

Today's card is a reminder to all of us to nurture ourselves, because unless we do, how can we nurture our friends and families?

The base is SU Marina Mist with So Saffron as the first layer.  The two die cuts are SB Labels Eight. I stamped a no-name stamp onto the Whisper White bottom diecut for a wallpaper effect, and the top (image) layer is cut from watercolor paper.

The image is from Flourishes From the Garden stamp set and has been stamped with black Staz-On and colored with watercolor pencils.  The watering can has been fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals as has the image layer.  The greeting is stamped in Marina Mist on So Saffron and punched out with SU's oval punch and layered onto the Oval Scallop punched from Marina Mist.

Some pearl "drops of water" from the watering can and added to the greeting and bow finish this card.  It was one of my earlier cards and didn't follow any particular sketch as I hadn't yet discovered the wonderful world of sketches.

If you're wondering what to do with that negative space die cut, use it for the inside of the card!  I cut another label out of So Saffron and put it inside the negative space and will stamp a greeting at a later date as this card can be used for several occasions.  Of course then I was left with a So Saffron negative space, but....

Note: I don't know why there are shadow lines in the photo.  Has something to do with the "eco-safe" lightbulbs in the work table lamps, and the fact that the photo was taken at night.  It doesn't happen in the daylight under the same lights.

At any rate, thank you for visiting me and have a wonderful, crafty Saturday.

Happy Crafting!

Thank you for the close up picture. Your coloring and fussy cutting is perfect! The detail I just love, and couldn't see without the close up, are the pearls as drops of water.
