Shabby Autumn

Hello and good morning!

Today I've made a card for the Week #139 challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room, called "Shabby Autumn."  We're to use the colors shown in the inspiration picture, include a pumpkin, and make the card shabby.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch (linked below) and had fun playing with this card.  Papers used are SU Neutrals DSP Stack, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and various pieces from my stash, including the printed script paper that I cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  I made the lace layer by inking up Flourishes lace background stamp with Pumpkin Pie, stamping off once, then spritzing with shimmer mist (homemade with SU Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol) before stamping the CS.  The Crumb Cake layer was embossed with a wallpaper-effect ef then sponged with Rich Cocoa on top.  All papers were inked on the edges and some were distressed.

The leaves were sponged with TH Scattered Straw and Peeled Paint before I misted them with shimmer paint and scrunched them up to distress them.  The greeting from SU Word Play was stamped with Rich Cocoa and cut out with the SU Apothecary Accents die, then I applied a bit of Scattered Straw around the edges while the paper was still in the die.  A "shadow" layer was cut with the same die and split down the middle before adhering to the back of the main layer.  Pearls finished it off.

The pumpkin (a no-name from M's) was paper pieced with some printed paper in my stash, and the leaves and stem were also pieced, only with green instead.  I used some very thin, flexible wire for the "vines" and added a strip of ruffled narrow crochet ribbon, then I finished everything off with one of my handmade pieces of "card jewelry."  I do love those things.

Thank you for joining me today, and I hope today is the beginning of a wonderful week for you.

Happy crafting!
